ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that the remaining suspect in the October fatal Orangeburg home invasion has been taken into custody.
"My investigators worked endlessly in this case to bring this last individual to face justice," the sheriff said. "As I said before, there is nothing anyone could place in that residence that was worth a man's life."
Ravenell said that Rodney Darnell Wade, 22, was taken into custody on Friday. He will be facing charges of murder, armed robbery, first-degree burglary, and possession of a weapon, during a crime.
Steven Bradley, 33; Brandon Culbreath, 22; and Daryl Sutton, 18, have already been taken into custody on those charges in connection with the October 27 fatal Geneva Road home invasion and robbery attempt that left one dead.
Breanna Fludd, 27; Tamika Lopez, 43; and Whitney Robinson, 29, were also charged in the case with accessory before and after the fact with investigators saying the women knew of the plan and the fatal shooting after.
Wade was the last suspect being sought in the October 27 home invasion which resulted in one resident inside the home being fatally shot.
Orangeburg County Sheriff's investigators negotiated with the Cordova man's relatives to convince Wade to turn himself in, Wade's first court appearance is tentatively scheduled for Monday.
