CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department is searching for the suspects who they say stole Visa gift cards from West Ashley.

Authorities say at 5:20 p.m., on Saturday, January 27, several people were able to get an employee at the West Ashley Walmart “to cash out $4,000 in Visa gift cards,” authorities said.

The suspects then left Walmart and went to Walgreens on Ashley River Road and used the gift cards to purchase just less than $4,000 in Visa gift cards, spokesman Charles Francis added.

From Walgreens, we’re told, they went towards Sam Rittenberg Blvd. using an unknown mode of transportation.
