Right now, the State Infrastructure bank is set to talk about the future of Interstate 526, a project that’s been hanging in the balance for years.
Earlier this year, SIB backed out of a contract for the completion of the interstate, which was originally planned to stretch across James and Johns Island.
The contract dispute was the result of a fight over funding for the project. The Charleston County council has been working with SIB to keep that project moving forward.
Governor Henry McMaster urged SIB to come up with the money after a snapped cable shut down the Wando bridge.
