SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – (WCBD) Waste Pro, the Town of Summerville’s previous waste collection service, has completed collecting their cans in Summerville town limits, according to spokesperson Mary Edwards.
In an effort to provide relief to citizens, the Street Department will collect empty Waste Pro cans in town limits only. Waste Pro estimated they collected 97 percent of their cans, which began in July, Edwards added. There are approximately an additional 500 cans that have not been collected.
Those who have empty Waste Pro cans are asked to please place them at the curb before 7 a.m. Monday, August 27, and allow them to remain there until the Street Department collects them, officials added.
Collection efforts will continue through August 31, and will extend to the following week if necessary, Edwards stated.
There will be no collections on September 3. If residents have Waste Pro cans that are full, they should contact Waste Pro directly at 843-6454100.
The Town is currently under a three year contract with Carolina Waste & Recycling, LLC that officially began on August 1.
