Two firefighters transported to the the hospital following blaze in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)– Charleston County Dispatch confirms the North Charleston Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on the 7000 block of Kenneth Drive. 

North Charleston Fire Department officials say their first arriving units reported heavy smoke showing from the single-family dwelling. 

They were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes. The American Red Cross was called to assist 5 adults.

Two firefighters from the North Charleston Fire Department were transported by Charleston County EMS.

According to dispatch, the call for a reported structure fire came in just before 8 p.m. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
