Two men sentenced in April 2018 armored truck robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – The U.S. Attorney’s office on Friday announced federal grand juries returned indictments against two Charleston men accused of robbing an armored truck.

Rashad Dingle of North Charleston and Robert Lee Brown II of West Ashley were charged in a 5-count indictment dating back to the April 2018 robbery of an armored truck driver.

Among other charges, attorney Sherri Lydon said the indictment includes robbery affecting interstate commerce and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence.


Additionally, Dingle is also charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition.

Both men now face a maximum penalty of up to life in federal prison.

The case was investigated by the FBI and Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Chris Schoen of the Charleston office for prosecution.
