Violent road rage on Hwy. 526 Sunday

CHARLESTON, S.C. — (WCBD) Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a motorists who they say shot at another car carrying two children, Sunday.

According to Capt. Roger Antonio, it happened around 1:30 p.m. on I-526 near the Ashley River Road exit. 

The sheriff’s office is calling it an apparent case of road rage.

After the victim’s vehicle nearly collided with another motorist’s vehicle, that vehicle got behind the victim’s vehicle, then pointed a gun and fired a shot, Antonio said.

The victim’s vehicle was struck in the rear, above the left taillight, Antonio said. 

We’re told no one was hurt.

The sheriff’s office says this is an active investigation.
