GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – Areas of Georgetown County around the Waccamaw River are under a flood warning as the waters continue to rise.
The gauge up river, in Conway, has risen four tenths of a foot on during the day Sunday. The Waccamaw is forecast to rise another foot and half to around 22 feet, cresting during the day Tuesday. The river is not expected to recede quickly, staying above 20 feet through Friday.
The record river level at the Conway gauge is 17.9 feet. The current flooding situation is like none recorded.
