Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event supports survivors of domestic violence

Local News

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- Local domestic violence shelter, My Sister’s House, is encouraging men to take a stand against domestic violence.

The annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event invites men to try on a pair of stilettos or fancy flip-flops during the walk on October 13th in Park Circle. At 9 AM, men, women, and children can all walk to raise awareness about domestic violence and help to support resources for domestic violence survivors seeking refuge at My Sister’s House. Registration is $20 per person, here.

My Sister’s House is also asking community members to host “Parties With Purpose” throughout the month of October. These parties are an opportunity for people to get together, have fun, while also learning about My Sister’s House and domestic violence prevention.
