Water service to be shut off for 241 homes in McKewn Plantation

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Dorchester County Water and Sewer will temporarily shut off water for about 241 homes in the McKewn Plantation subdivision Thursday morning.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m., crews will shut off the services in order to make upgrades to the wastewater system.

The water will remain off for approximately 2 hours while the upgrades are made.

Once service is restored, you are asked to boil your water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking.

Any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
