CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – It’s time to adopt a duck! The 13th annual Charleston Duck Race is happening on Saturday, June 1st at Smythe Lake Park. The event begins at five p.m. and will include cash prizes, games, jump castles, music, food and more.
Approximately 30-thousand rubber ducks will be dropped into the Smythe Park Lake with prizes awarded to the first seven ducks to cross the finish line. This year’s first prize winner will receive 10-thousand dollars.
The Charleston Duck Race has raised over 1-point-5 million for local beneficiaries and Rotary projects worldwide. Proceeds from the sale of ducks will support Charleston area charities and service projects.
