Lowcountry Food Bank makes strides on to fight hunger for Hunger Action Month

(WCBD) — On Thursday, September 8, 2016, the Lowcountry Food Bank is hosting a food distribution to fight hunger in the community.

The food distribution is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lord of the Harvest Christian Church location at 3680 Meeting Street in North Charleston.

This marks one of the many awareness events taking place throughout the month of September in recognition of Hunger Action Month. The month-long campaign is designed to raise awareness of the more 700,000 people in South Carolina, who make up 49 million people throughout the United States who struggle with hunger.

The Lowcountry Food Bank is encouraging the community to “Go Orange” to bring awareness to hunger in our community.
