Man uses app to trick victims in four armed robberies in Ladson

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Authorities arrested a Ladson man who used an app to rob victims in the Lowcountry.

Jumahn Raymar Tolbert, 18, of Ladson, is charged with four counts of armed robbery. Bond was set at $400,000 at a hearing.

Authorities say each of the charges stems from meetings between Tolbert and the victims after corresponding on the mobile classified app “Letgo”.

We’re told Tolbert used multiple aliases and agreed to sell a product to the victims and set up meetings in and near the Woodside subdivision in Ladson.

After meeting, Tolbert robbed the victims at gunpoint. No one was injured during any of the transactions, according to a news release.
