
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The man who assaulted admitted Emanuel AME Church shooter Dylann Roof, is now out of jail.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 4 while Dylan Roof was in the process of preparing for a shower, he was physically assaulted by Dwayne Stafford, 26, of Goose Creek.

Officials told News 2 earlier that Stafford would face assault charges. We were later told Roof and his attorneys don’t want to press charges.
Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon says this was the first incident with Roof since he was jailed last June.
