A massive manhunt underway right now after five inmates escaped through a gap in a fence at a North Carolina jail.
Four of the five inmates who escaped from the Nash County Detention Center are back in custody, only one remains at large.
Officials say the inmates forced their way through a hole in a fence in the exercise yard yesterday afternoon. Investigators believe they may have been picked up by an accomplice.
They believe the group was able to slip through a gap in the jail’s surveillance system. The FBI has been called in to assist in the search, as well as other area law enforcement departments.
Officers were also searching by foot, air, and conducting checkpoint stops.
