BOSTON (WFLA) – The notorious mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger was found dead at a federal prison on Tuesday, NBC News reports.
The Boston gangster was recently moved from a prison in Florida to a transfer facility in Oklahoma City, according to the Associated Press. They report that he was moved again and was listed on the inmate log of a West Virginia prison on Tuesday.
There is no information yet on what led to Bulger’s death.
The former leader of the Winter Hill Gang was convicted of several crimes back in 2013, including participating in 11 murders.
He was one of America’s most wanted fugitives for 16 years but was arrested in 2011.
