Stan Lee, the man behind Marvel Comics, has passed away at age 95.

A family attorney confirmed Lee’s death to the Associated Press Monday afternoon. TMZ reports that Lee was rushed from his home in Hollywood Hills early Monday morning to a hospital where he later died.

Lee co-created legendary characters like Spiderman and Hulk. He made cameo appearances in most of the Marvel movies.
