(WFLA/CNN Newsource) – Volvo will begin placing a speed limit on its vehicles as part of efforts to end fatal accidents.

Now, most vehicles can drive faster than 150 miles per hour.

But Volvo said it will limit its car from going faster than 112 miles an hour.

The automaker’s CEO said while the plan won’t end all fatal accidents, it’s an important step in Volvo’s goal to have no deaths or serious injuries in its new vehicles by 2020.

Volvo also plans to look at ways to address driver behavior to prevent accidents.

For example, the automaker said it will unveil plans for technology intended to prevent driving while drunk or distracted later this month.
