A young giraffe who had a rough start at life, is getting back on track.
This is Ali. She lives at the Memphis Zoo and hasn’t had it very easy. Ali was born back on April 5th, but just 24 hours later, her mother disengaged from her. To make matters worse, a couple of days later, Ali began to limp.
Doctors diagnosed her with a fracture above her ankle, causing her to need surgery. Through this whole ordeal, Ali refused to take her bottle. But that’s all changed.
Soon after her surgery in Kentucky, she began feeding, which is a big sigh of relief for the zoo.
Once Ali heals, she will be reunited with the rest of the giraffes. But for now she’s resting and eating like a baby.
