HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Two people were injured in a plane crash in the area of Hwy 9 near Nichols, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.
HCFR said they were called to the crash at 8:08 p.m. for a single-engine plane crash. The plane was found in a heavily wooded area and helped two people on board from the crash site. Both people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The plane, a Beech model 35, experienced engine issues and landed in trees, accroding to the FAA website. It was manufactured in 1960, according to the FAA registration.
According to FlightAware.com, the plane departed from Piedmont Triad International Airport near Greensboro, NC, at 7:06 p.m. and then crashed in the Green Sea/Nichols area.
Horry County police and Loris Fire Department assisted with the call.
