Missing 7-week-old baby from Asheville found safe

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Asheville Police say a missing 7-week-old baby who was reported missing from Biltmore Park has been found safe in Henderson County. The incident is under further investigation at this time.

Police said the mother and the baby, Shaylie, were kidnapped by people wearing ski masks. 

Police say the suspects were described as a male and female, both of a thin build wearing face masks. The female was described as having black hair, the male as having red hair.

The mother was able to get away, according to police. 

Police said the suspect vehicle is a silver 2014 Mazda CX5 with North Carolina license plate EMX-5984. 

Anyone with information about the kidnapping should call 911 immediately. 

Henderson County deputies have been assisting Asheville Police with this case.
