Police release video of Dylann Roof’s arrest, officers show emotion after

SHELBY, NC – Police in North Carolina released the dash cam footage of Dylan Roof’s arrest.  Roof is  accused of shooting nine people at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC.

The video shows officers approaching Roof’s car in Shelby, NC then frisking and handcuffing the suspect without incident.

Roof is charged to have killed nine people in a shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston Wednesday night, June 17, 2015. The incident is being treated as a hate crime.


SHELBY, NC –Once Shelby, North Carolina Police Officers had Dylann Roof in custody last Thursday morning, they showed emotions and celebrated the capture of the Charleston Church Shooting suspect.

The first congratulatory fist bump came almost a minute after Roof was in hand cuffs and placed in the backseat of the police car.

Emotions were high and you could really tell the officers were all happy to apprehend him and get him off of the streets.

Officer Joe Burris’ celebration is going viral on Wednesday morning (June 24, 2015) after the dash cam video was released on Tuesday. Officer Burris clapped and pounded his hands after Roof was arrested and gave out high-fives to the other officers who helped apprehend him.
