CHARLESTON, SC – Another statue has been vandalized downtown Charleston in the wake of the Confederate Flag debate.

The John C. Calhoun statue located in Marion Square was spray painted with the words “RACIST” under Calhoun and “And Slaves” under Constitution.

The statue rises 80 feet over Marion Square and shows John C. Calhoun standing with his cloak over his shoulders, a scroll in his left hand as he looks over the city.

According to the Charleston Police Department, the vandalism was found at 10:09 A.M. by an Officer on patrol. No arrests have been made yet.

The vandalism is under investigation.
