SC law school teaches how to protect yourself against identity theft

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Consumers may learn how to protect themselves against identity theft at a speech at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

State Department of Consumer Affairs deputy administrator Marti Phillips is speaking Thursday at a breakfast event at 7:45 a.m. in the law school auditorium.

The talk is part of a series of breakfast talks on technology and is free and open to the public.

Phillips is also offering remedies for people who have been victims of identity theft.
