MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) – A swimmer who was rescued from the ocean in Myrtle Beach this week has died.

According to News 2’s sister station WBTW, Mikease McFarland, 17, Darlington, was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Hospital on Friday, July 8.

Emergency crews were called to Myrtle Beach to help three distressed swimmers Wednesday afternoon. McFarland was pulled from the ocean near 43rd Avenue.
