School bus driver injured after hit-and-run in West Ashley


WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD) — Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an accident involving a school bus on West Ashley.

The call came in just before 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.

According to Charleston County Sheriff’s officials, seven students were on the bus heading to West Ashley High School, when the bus was side swiped by a passing dump truck  on Limestone Blvd. near North Lander Lane. The driver of the dump truck took off from the scene.

The bus driver has minor injuries from broken glass. There were no reported injuries to the students. They were taken to school by another bus.
