Attorney’s for Michael Slager have filed a motion asking to review military records from Walter Scott’s Coast Guard service.

Michael Slager is the former North Charleston police officer charged with murder in the death of Walter Scott in April 2015 during a traffic stop.

Slager, who was held in jail since his arrest just days after the shooting, was released from custody after posting $500,000 bail on January 4.

Attorneys for Slager are also requesting that Scott’s Coast Guard records be sealed to protect any other people mentioned in the documents.
