Beaufort County man arrested for sending nude photos to minor on social media

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – A Beaufort County man has been arrested for sending nude photos to a minor on social media.

State Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of 26-year-old Mitchell Thomas Campbell on Friday.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested Campbell back on November 20th. They say he possessed child pornography and sent nude images to a minor victim via social media.

Campbell is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree, a felony offense punishable by up to 10-years imprisonment; and one count of disseminating obscene material to a person under age eighteen, a felony offense punishable by up to 10-years imprisonment.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
