GREENVILLE, S.C. (WFLA)—A South Carolina woman was allegedly shot and killed by her father after he mistook her for an intruder, WYFF reported.

According to a coroner, 23-year-old Nadeja Jermainequa Pressley was killed by her father at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning after she entered her home on Young Street in Greenville.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said Pressley’s father believed an intruder had tried to enter their home through a door and shot through it, killing his daughter.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed on Monday and the shooting remains under investigation.
