COLUMBIA, SC (WCBD) – Are you feeling lucky? The Mega Millions jackpot has just reached a record $1 billion!

Those interested in buying a ticket for the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever and the second largest jackpot in the nation should purchase their ticket by 10 p.m. for Friday night’s drawing at 11:00 p.m.

Lottery officials say if a winning jackpot ticket is sold in South Carolina, it will be the state’s first Mega Millions jackpot win – ever!

The winner could accept a one-time cash payout of $565 million or the annuity, the entire jackpot paid out in payments over 29 years.

Tickets cost $2 and are available at most grocery stores and convenience stores in our state.
