“Free Range Parenting Bill” would change the state’s child abuse and neglect laws

South Carolina News

COLUMBIA, SC (WCBD) – A “Free Range Parenting Bill” is being introduced here in the Palmetto State.

It would amend the state’s child abuse and neglect laws to say children who are old and mature enough do not need constant adult supervision.

The bill would also let kids play outside or stay home alone as long as their basic needs are met.

They also must be old enough to engage in independent activities.

That judgment would be left up to the parents or guardians.
