Jury selection has begun in the trial of a South Carolina man accused in killing his five children in 2014.

Prosecutors say 37-year-old Timothy Jones, jr. strangled and beat his five children to death at his Red Bank home.

They say he then drove around for 9 days, before eventually dumping the childrens’ bodies in rural Alabama.

Jones’ trial has been delayed several times, most recently in October 2018.

He is expected to plead not guilty by reason of insanity. If convicted, Jones could be sentenced to death.
