Man charged with burglary, grand larceny after breaking into evacuated homes

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office stated that during and after Hurricane Florence, multiple homes were burglarized in the Pawleys Plantation community while the residents were evacuated. 

Over the weekend officers from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division took Coleman Tudor, 32, of Pawleys Island, into custody on charges of burglary and grand larceny in connection with those burglaries. 

Gold and silver jewelry and flatware reported stolen were recovered by officers. 

Additional charges are pending, according to authorities.

The investigation continues.
