COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – Nathaniel Rowland is expected to make his first court appearance at the Richland County Judicial Center on Monday.
Rowland is charged with the kidnapping and murder of University of South Carolina student, Samantha Josephson.
On March 29th, the 21-year-old student called an Uber for a ride home after a night on the town with some of her friends in the Five Points area.
She entered a vehicle, thinking it was her ride-share. Instead, it was Rowland.
Josephson’s body was found by turkey hunters in a rural area of Clarendon County, about 65 miles from Columbia, later that afternoon.
Hours later, Rowland was stopped in his black Chevy Impala two blocks from the Five Points area by a Columbia Police K-9.
