Moving Panthers HQ to South Carolina could mean light rail extension

South Carolina News

COLUMBIA, SC (WCBD) – Leaders across South Carolina are talking about ways to bring North and South Carolina together as the Panthers eye a possible move to the Palmetto State.

Governor Henry McMaster hopes to help the Panthers live up to the motto “Two States, One Team” by getting the team to move its practice facility to York County.

The governor wants to roll out a light rail extension from Charlotte to Rock Hill.

“We have a great opportunity and politics got nothing to do with it,” he said. “This is business, economic growth, happiness and football… and light rail!”
