GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Police in South Carolina arrested a man accused of breaking into a woman’s home, pouring a flammable liquid on her and then setting her on fire.
Christopher William Crouchman, 31, was being held Thursday morning in Greenville County on an attempted murder charge, according to jail records.
The attack happened Monday at the woman’s apartment, news outlets reported. Greenville police said she was found with visible skin damage to her face. She told officers Crouchman had forced his way through her front door.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment but her condition wasn’t released.
In addition to attempted murder, Crouchman was also charged with first-degree burglary, news outlets reported. It’s unclear whether he had an attorney who could speak for him.
