SC inmates caught live streaming from a maximum-security prison

South Carolina News

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – Inmates have been caught live streaming from a maximum-security prison in South Carolina.

This week, the Department of Corrections tweeted that they apprehended several inmates involved

We’re told officers confiscated phones following the incident as well.

The tweet says: “We are investigating why the managed access system that blocks cell service in the prison allowed the signal to broadcast.”

Corrections officials also thanked everyone who alerted them about the live stream.

The tweet went on to say this is another reason to jam cell signals at prisons.

Corrections Director Bryan Stirling has continuously pushed to pass legislation to allow that.
