SC “Move Over” law may soon include wreckers, tow trucks

South Carolina News

COLUMBIA, SC (WCBD) – A law requiring motorists in South Carolina move over for emergency vehicles or personnel may soon be expanded.

Right now, all drivers must move over or use caution if you see law enforcement, accidents, or rescue equipment or face a fine.

But a new bill introduced at the Statehouse would require you to also move over for wreckers and tow truck drivers who are responding to an incident.
