SC teen charged with impersonating law enforcement officer

South Carolina News

GREENVILLE, SC (WCBD) – A teenager is facing charges after police say he impersonated a secret service officer in the upstate.

They say Thomason Barrett, 17, spent the weekend traveling in a silver SUV with a siren and blue lights.

We’re told he was flashing a badge and a handgun and was also carrying handcuffs and a radio.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said Barrett was arrested Sunday.

We’re told he got the gear from a relative who is a law enforcement officer, but that person didn’t know he took the equipment.
The teen is charged with four counts of impersonating a law enforcement officer and is out on a $4,000 dollar bond.
