SCDPS: Over 900 killed on S.C. roadways in 2021

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) has released a preliminary report indicating that 918 motorists have died on S.C. roadways this year.

SCPDS reports that of the 918 fatalities in 2021, 606 had access to seatbelts and, of that number, 301 were not wearing one.

The report continues with 135 pedestrian deaths, 136 motorcycle deaths, and 15 bicycle deaths being reported this year (as of October 31st).
