Thief steals cremated remains, hot dogs, whiskey from Spartanburg home

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A woman said someone broke into their home and stole her grandfather’s ashes – just the ashes – not the container, hot dogs, frozen pizzas and whiskey, according to a report from Spartanburg Co. Sheriff’s Office.

The report said it happen on Nov. 17 in the 1500 block of Fernwood Glendale Rd.

A victim said they returned home and found their front door unlocked.

The victim said she and another person were the only people who had keys because the deadbolt was replaced by management after another break-in on Oct. 23.

The woman said she didn’t know who would keep breaking into their apartment.

The victims discovered multiple missing items including:

Makeup

Roku (2)

Purse

The victim’s grandfather’s ashes (but not the container they were in)

Silver ring

Silver necklace

Beach bag

Frozen pizzas (2)

Juice (4 containers)

Package of hot dogs

Package of cheese

Lunch meat

Egg nog rolls

Jack Daniel’s whiskey
