It happened in the 1800 block of Bees Creek Road near Graham Hall.

JCSO responded to the call at 5:30 a.m., to find a male suspect had shot a female inside the home. He then opened fire on officers with a shotgun and rifle.

Ridgeland Police Dept. and SWAT assisted in entering the home, where officers found the man had shot and killed himself.

The deputy and female victim inside the home was airlifted to Memorial for treatment.
