Woman receives state’s highest civilian honor

(WCBD) — A 108-year-old South Carolina woman got the state’s highest civilian honor.

Governor Henry McMaster awarded Donella Brown Wilson the Order of the Palmetto this week for her dedication to civic duty. She hasn’t missed a vote in 70 years.

Wilson is considered one of the first African-American women to vote in the state.
