CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department arrested the person responsible for a bank robbery on Wednesday, August 17.
Cory Ray Christie, 37, of Georgia is charged with entering a bank with the intent to steal. Christie was arrested on August 30th in Chatham, Georgia and is currently being held at the Chatham County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
Authorities say on August 17, a white male entered The South State Bank on Savannah Highway and demanded money from the teller.
The suspect then fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area in a Red Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Authorities are certain Christie is the same man who is connected to several other bank robberies across the southeast.
