Suspect in Mount Pleasant shooting identified


MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) — Mount Pleasant Police have identified the suspect involved in a shooting near Chuck Dawley Blvd.

Ernest Miner Comar, Jr., 56,  is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

On December 15, 2016, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to Dataw Court in reference to a shooting.

In documents received by News 2, we learned Comar told dispatchers that he “just shot a main in the head” and he was “ready for police to take him to jail.”

The victim, Jack Herndon, was located inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed to the Medical University of South Carolina.
