JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — A vigil for Jaquan Moore, the man fatally shot on a playground in James Island, is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Reverend of the First Baptist Church on James Island is asking all community churches, spiritual leaders, community activists and concerned citizens on the Island and the Tri-county o attend and show support for Moore, as well as to address what’s going on with the youth in the community. There has been a recent increase in crime involving teenagers in the Lowcountry.

The vigil for Moore will be held at Thomas Johnson Park (where Moore was shot) from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.RELATED: 16-year-old arrested in connection to deadly James Island shooting
