Woman wanted on obstruction of justice charges following shooting at Magnolia Place Apartments

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) — The Summerville Police Department is searching for the woman who deliberately provided false information to authorities investigating a deadly shooting at Magnolia Place Apartments.

Disiree Williams, 24, is wanted for obstruction of justice. She’s known to frequent the Ladson and Summerville area.

On Saturday, September 17 at 6:49 a.m., the Summerville Police Department responded to 101 Hutson Drive in reference to a shooting.

Officers found Stefon Chapman, 21, of Summerville in the backyard of a home suffering from a gunshot wound. Chapman later died from his injuries.

During the investigation, we’re told, authorities received word that a male was at a local hospital after reportedly being shot at the apartment complex.

The victim told authorities that while speaking to a woman named “Dezzy,” later identified as Williams, she was approached by a masked gunman who began to fire at him.

The victim said he grabbed his gun and returned fire. After being shot in the arm, the victim drove himself to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators say Williams was a female companion of Chapman.

She was captured on video surveillance with the victim minutes before the shooting and reported to investigators that she does not know the victim and never had any contact with him, according to a news release.

If you have any information, contact the Summerville Police Department or your local law enforcement agency immediately.
