Thursday Joe Biden formally announced his run the White House.

Biden, vice president under President Barack Obama, made the announcement about the 2020 race for president in a YouTube video released Thursday morning.

“The core values of this nation… our standing in the world… our very democracy…everything that has made America — America –is at stake. That’s why today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States. #Joe2020,” a tweet announcing the run read.

In the video the 76-year-old talked about combating racism and questioned how President Trump reacted to incidents of racism.

In the video he called Presidents Trump’s time in office as an “aberrant moment in time,” and he said he couldn’t stand-by allowing the President to win another term.

This is Biden’s third campaign.

One of the most recognizable names in U.S. politics, Biden leads most early Democratic primary polls.
