Cobras thankful for their bye week

The Cane Bay Cobras started the season 0-2. Not the start any team wants, but it’s still early in the season and last week the Cobras had a bye that was much needed.

Even early on they were pretty banged up and the bye week gave them a chance to get some guys healthy.

Russell Zehr said, “this bye week came at a good time for us. Gave us an extra week to work on fundamentals. Kind of get some kids caught up with where they need to be, so we’ve had a lot of injuries, so it’s given some kids a chance to get back out here.”

Chase Smith said, “they bye week helped us out a lot. That way we can connect better on offense and defense, both second string and first string.”

Micah Staggers said, “we had a lot of injuries against Fort, but we came back, conditioned, and worked on the fundamentals. Worked hard, got on the same level, same page come back, Ashley Ridge this week.”

The Cobras host Ashley Ridge Friday night at 7:30.
