JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCBD) – In line with Pennsylvania superstition, every February 2nd thousands look to a groundhog to know if old man winter will continue his wrath or if we can expect an early spring.
This year, our very-own “Johns Island Josh” is making his groundhog day prediction.
While Saturday morning is expected to be mostly cloudy, Josh says there will be peeks of sunshine.
Josh says there is a change he’ll see his shadow at sunrise, but the outlook for the rest of winter looks to be unchanged.
We can expect to see a few weeks of warmth followed by periods of cold weather, much like the pattern we’ve seen since the fall of 2018.
Quick shots of arctic air with near normal rainfall shouldn’t come as surpise as we move through the rest of the season.
Are you ready for warm weather or do you hope this cold pattern will continue? Let us know on Facebook.
